My Old Fashioned Childhood Backyard
When I get the chance to own my own home, I hope I have a backyard much like the one I grew up with. There is nothing really special to it and does not have a specific patio design, but it has plenty of charm and memories. My father built our swing set and tree fort for us when I was about five years old.
We have three swings for the set, but had switched between rings and a trapeze bar for the fourth spot. Our tree house had a rope ladder on the left side, a fire pole in the back, a sandbox underneath, and a yellow slide. The yellow slide was best in the summer time, especially when we used to put the tail end of the slide into the kiddie pool and slipped and slid into the pool.
But the best part of the yard is my dad’s garden he created behind our swing set. He has planted many different things in it throughout the years such as corn, pumpkins, bell peppers, tomatoes, green beans, and even sunflowers. We used to watch him draw out the plan for the garden every year, and he has a green enough thumb to have been able to maintain it throughout every summer. There is no better backyard than that.
